Cooking-Oil Fire Performance Test

The TÜV SÜD programme included fire-performance testing with burning cooking oil in accordance with the applicable EN 1869:2019 test requirements.

The tested DVM fire blanket extinguished the cooking-oil fire and met the evaluation criteria reported by TÜV SÜD, including the applicable flame suppression and re-ignition requirements.

This test is particularly relevant to domestic and commercial kitchen environments, where cooking oils and fats present a significant fire risk. Water must never be poured onto burning cooking oil or fat.

Heptane Fire Performance Test

The TÜV SÜD testing programme also included a controlled heptane fire-performance test.

The tested specimens met the applicable performance requirements and achieved the passing result documented in the official report.

The heptane test provides additional evidence of the fire-suppression performance of the tested DVM 1 × 1 m fire blanket series under the specified test conditions.

EN 1869:2019 and the EFRS Framework

The TÜV SÜD report provides independent third-party test evidence for the DVM 1.0 × 1.0 m Fire Blanket Series against the requirements and test methods applied from EN 1869:2019.

EN 1869:2019 remains the applicable European fire-blanket product standard. The European Fire Blanket Reference Specification is an additional DVM reference framework for structured product evaluation, documentation, procurement and application suitability.

The EFRS does not replace EN 1869:2019 and is not a separate product certification. It helps professional buyers assess technical evidence, traceability and supplier documentation consistently.
