The DVM fire blanket measures 1.2 × 1.8 metres and provides a larger covering area for extinguishing small fires and protecting a person in an emergency. The blanket is made from heavy-duty fiberglass fabric with a specified weight of at least 430 grams per square metre (g/m²). Its performance against Class F cooking oil and fat fires has been independently tested by TÜV SÜD in accordance with the European fire blanket standard EN 1869:2019.

The larger dimensions also make this blanket suitable for wrapping around a person whose clothing has caught fire, provided that it can be done safely.

How to Use the Fire Blanket

1. Remove the Blanket: Pull both straps to release the blanket from its storage bag. Hold the blanket in front of your hands for protection.
2. Cover the Fire: Carefully place the blanket over the entire fire to restrict the oxygen supply. Do not throw the blanket onto the fire.
3. Leave the Blanket in Place: Keep the fire covered for at least 20 minutes and allow the affected object to cool. Do not remove the blanket while there is a risk of reignition.

For Clothing Fires: If a person's clothing catches fire, use the larger blanket to cover the burning clothing and help extinguish the flames. Do not cover the person's face or obstruct breathing. Seek medical assistance for burns.

Only attempt to extinguish a fire when it is small and safe to approach. If the fire cannot be controlled safely, evacuate the area and contact the emergency services.
